Explore the rich and complex flavours of our Red Bourbon coffee, grown at an altitude of 1750 meters above sea level in the stunning Mumirwa region of Burundi. This exceptional coffee is produced by smallholder farmer families from the Nyabiraba Commune, with processing handled at the Kinama washing station, operated by the dedicated Migoti Coffee Company.
The coffee is naturally processed and sun-dried, which allows the beans to develop a deep, fruity character that captures the essence of the region’s unique terroir. The soil composition, a blend of sand, loam, and clay, contributes to a well-rounded and balanced cup profile, while the high-altitude growing conditions lend themselves to a clean, bright finish.
Expect a cup that opens with bold fruit notes, perhaps reminiscent of ripe red berries and dried stone fruits, followed by subtle earthy undertones and a smooth, velvety body. The natural processing method brings forward a syrupy sweetness and a slight hint of cocoa, making each sip a satisfying experience.
